Why
Why do we do what we do?
HANDCRAFT
#goes future.
We are convinced that sharing knowledge and skills is an effective, preventative and sustainable way to guarantee a peaceful and successful future. We are a group of non-profit women and men from the trades, guilds, companies, social organisations, foundations, associations and private individuals who are committed to the idea of a fair and sustainable world for all.
Powered by EURwanda Handcraft Foundation e.V.
Our aim is to expand our social commitment and work together on projects. We want to pass on our experience and convince others that it is worth getting involved and sharing across borders and on a voluntary basis. Social engagement in education is an investment in the future.
Education creates future
The skilled crafts sector can make a significant contribution to eliminating the causes of displacement in Africa. With good training as a craftsman, young people can build a future for themselves, support their families and strengthen the local economy.
Our Focus
is especially focussed on
-
networking with local players in the skilled crafts sector.
-
close cooperation at eye level and exchange with the corresponding organisations in Rwanda.
At the same time, the intercultural exchange with Rwanda as a partner country of Rhineland-Palatinate, in the sense of sustainable promotion of young talent between German and Rwandan young people, is of great importance. In order to achieve this goal, the EURwanda Handcraft Foundation e.V. has defined four main activities for sustainable engagement:
-
Social training trip ‘Rwanda Journey 2025’ - With and for young craftspeople from Germany and vocational students from Rwanda; working together on a social project in Rwanda.
-
DigiHandCraftCampus4you.com - A digital education platform for nine craft trades. The credo here is to discover talent and raise awareness of the craft trades.
-
Junior Talent House of Handcraft
-
Top fit for voluntary work - increasing interest in young people via companies, for one of the 50 partnership associations in Rhineland-Palatinate and between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda.
Our current projects
Junior Talent House
International, cross-trade information center, meeting place and assessment center for the skilled trades in Rwanda and Germany.

Top fit for voluntary work
The intention of this project is to raise awareness among companies and organizations (which prioritize either the 17 SDGs, CSR, or sustainability) and support them in their important role in the area of "Corporate Social Responsibility." This is achieved through a suitable program for employees (m/f/d) who want to volunteer. The aim of this project is to counteract the shortage of young volunteers for future positions on association boards at an early stage.
Intercultural exchange
To achieve this goal, we offer a two-year training program for employees of a company through seminars run by the "Arbeit und Leben GmbH" association and a trip to Rwanda. Participants develop all the necessary skills for volunteer work, including continuing education within their company. The company supports this training by granting selected employees six days of leave per year and providing them with a complementary one-week practical trip to Rwanda.
The purpose of this training is to promote intercultural exchange and mutual respect within the company. In addition, this training promotes "open-mindedness" and creates a positive image for the company. Ultimately, you are doing something good for our world. Importantly, this is not "greenwashing," but rather an authentic and sustainable volunteer effort.
